Business technology specialists consult with businesses on technology that is necessary for their operations. For instance, if a business needs to upgrade their networking or software programs, a consultant job may be in order. There are certain special skills which most business technology consultants possess to properly perform their duties. For instance, many found that most resumes listed technical skills, communication skills and managerial skills. Not all of these qualities are necessary to become a successful consultant though. A person with the right skill set can certainly find a position as a business technology analyst without having to undergo the process of earning a bachelor's degree in computer science.

How is it possible to get a job as a business technology consultant without a bachelor's degree? It really depends on where you want to work. For example, some companies only hire employees who have at least a bachelor's degree. Other companies only hire those who have a master's degree or higher. There are also some businesses who only hire those who have a master's degree or higher. So depending on where you want to work, it may be necessary for you to earn more than a bachelor's degree in computer science in order to qualify for a consulting position.

Now that we know some of the different types of jobs that are available, let us take a closer look at the responsibilities of these professionals. Although a bachelor's degree is not required to get into this profession, most business degree holders tend to have more experience than those who hold only a high school diploma. Business administration, human resources, finance and accounting, and information systems all require different types of education. And because technology changes so rapidly, those with a business degree tend to have a deep and thorough understanding of all types of computer systems. This experience gives them the ability to solve problems and to help managers design the best computer network.

You can earn a business administration management degree through an accredited university or through any online school. Some universities even offer a shortened version of a bachelor's program. Online courses are especially popular among working adults who are already employed and do not want to take a leave of absence from their current positions. Taking an online business degree allows the student to continue working while attending classes at the same time. It also saves time by not requiring the student to travel to school.

When it comes to applying for a business management degree, some general information about your background is required. In order to be considered for admission, you must have a high school diploma. Some of the classes that you will need to study include mathematics, information technology, business law, statistics, and human resource management. Once you are accepted into a school of business, you will have to attend classes at least four times a year, or the equivalent in many states.

If you plan to obtain a business administration degree, you will also need to earn an associate degree in human resources or business administration. An associate degree usually takes two years or less to complete. The associate degree requires core courses that include psychology, sociology, math, communications, computer science, and business. The associate degree programs typically focus more on leadership, management, and teaching, but there are some schools that allow students to specialize.

Business technology consultant salaries vary widely depending on location, experience, industry, and the size of the firm. While consultants start at the very low end of the pay scale, the highest starting salaries are earned by those with more education and expertise in business technology. Graduates of these specialized courses may also be eligible for higher-level executive positions within large consultancies.
